Squarespace and Geo Targetly
Geo Targetly manages the entire setup process of geo redirects and only a single line of JavaScript code needs to be placed into your Squarespace website for the redirect to become active. Once this JavaScript code is placed into your website, it does not need to be touched.
The Squarespace platform provides an array of code injection tools making it easy to integrate Geo Targetly. All you need to do is open up the code injection tool in Squarespace, whether it is the site wide header code injection or page based header code injection and insert Geo Targetly's geo redirect JavaScript code.

Start: Signup & create a new Geo Redirect
Create a new account at our registration page for a 14 day free trial.
Once you are logged in create a new Geo Redirect by clicking on 'Create New' > 'Geo Redirect'
Step 1: Enter your Squarespace URL
Give a name to your Geo Redirect and then enter your Squarespace website URL. If you need to geo redirect all pages of your website, then enter your domain or enter a particular page URL to be redirected.
Step 2: Setup optional features
Geo Targetly provides plenty of advanced geo redirection features if you have a complex situation where you need to inter-redirect between websites, restrict certain IPs or domain referrals.
Some of the features include 1: Redirect all pages or only certain pages, 2: Redirecting visitors from external sources only, 3: Bypassing redirects if visitor is from a particular domain or IP. Follow the instructions in our setup to select the options that apply to your Squarespace website.
Step 3: Configure geo redirects
This setup allows you to actually configure the geo redirects for your Squarespace site. You can create any number of redirects each targeting a specific location segment.
Each location segment can be made up of multiple countries, states/regions, cities, IP addresses and latitude-longitude-radius zones. You can even create a default segment which redirect your visitors if non of the other location segments match.
Advanced options such as 1. Passing query strings onto the redirect URL, 2.Passing subdirectory paths on the redirect URL and 3. Using a custom URL map are provided if you require them.
Step 4: Insert code into Squarespace
Once your geo redirect is setup and saved, you will be given a piece of JavaScript code. Copy this code and place it into the head code injection feature of your Squarespace website.
This code only needs to be placed once and never changed. All changes to your geo redirect can be done in Geo Targetly. You can also use the page specific head code injector in Squarespace if you want our redirect to be only active on a certain page.

Step 5: Test your redirects
Once you are all setup, it is important to test your Squarespace website to see if the geo redirection is working correctly. You can use a VPN to test if you are redirecting certain countries.
Geo Targetly also provides a location injection testing tool where you can inject a particular location and specify your IP address to see the redirect working.
Step 6: View analytics data
A great feature of Geo Targetly is our analytics data showing how many redirects each of your location segment has received. You can view this data on a monthly and yearly time scale and export it for further analysis.
